Let me introduce myself; I'm John Cole. I'm known around Kettering, Corby and Burton Latimer as 'The Lawnmower Man'.

As an established local business, I have been repairing and servicing lawnmowers for over twenty years. I give a personal service and guarantee my work to be of top quality.

Don't worry about being without your lawnmower for long if you bring it to me. I endeavour to fix or service your machine within a week. Often, it's the same or next day but I can't always guarantee this if I have to wait for a part.

Lawnmower Servicing

Why have your lawnmower serviced? With regular servicing, your mower is likely to have a longer and healthier life and is less likely to break down when you need it the most. Your lawn will benefit too and look much neater with sharpened blades. 

What do you do for the service? I change the oil so that it doesn't become thick and dirty which can put a strain on your engine and make your mower difficult to start. I sharpen the blades to give your lawn a clean crisp cut (you'll notice the difference). I replace the spark plug to help with starting. I clean or replace the air filter (depending on the condition) to improve engine life as it's far better to breath clean air than dirty, even for a lawnmower. I oil and check the wheel bearings, drive gears and cables so that they last longer.

How often should I have it done? I recommend either yearly or every other year based on the size of your lawn and the amount of use it gets through the growing season. As you can imagine, March is a very busy month for me so do get your service booked in from January onwards. Call me to book your mower in my diary 0795 100 4387.

Lawnmower Repairs

FREE - not the repair but certainly the inspection and assessment of your faulty lawnmower. I only charge for the work I do and the parts I replace. I will always give you an honest opinion as to whether it is worth repairing or not and give you a complete quote listing the parts and labour costs.

Sadly, the lawnmower graveyard is littered with machines that could easily have been repaired and saved. If the body work of the mower is intact, there's a good chance it could live another day or even years! Before discarding a faulty mower, give me a call on 0795 100 4387.

Lawnmower Sales

From time to time I come across an unwanted lawnmower (stand behind petrol variety) which I recondition, repair and sell. All second hand machines have a full service and come with a three month warranty (for mechanical faults only, not accidental damage or misuse). I've usually got several available at any one time.
